WHAT WE PROCLAIM

“ . . . we proclaim Christ crucified . . .”  I Corinthians 1:23

“For I have decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”  1 Corinthians 2:2

  • We proclaim that we are sinners in need of a Savior.

  • We proclaim that our Savior is Jesus the Christ who died on the cross for all people.

  • We proclaim that Jesus Christ rose on Easter and is today present with us.

  • We proclaim that the Holy Spirit empowers our ministry for the sake of Jesus Christ

  • We proclaim that we are saved by God’s grace and love through Jesus Christ and not by our own good deeds or efforts.

  • We proclaim that God comes to us in three ways, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We proclaim that our Lord is present with us through the proclamation of the gospel and in the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

  • We proclaim that through baptism our sins are forgiven, and we are brought into the Kingdom of God.

  • We proclaim that our Lord is bodily present for us in the Lord’s Supper, that the Lord’s body and blood are present in, with, and under the bread and wine.  All who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have been baptized are invited by our Lord to join us at our Lord’s table.

  • We proclaim our Lord’s words of forgiveness, welcome, and love for all people regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, or sexual orientation every Sunday, and we seek to live those words in all we do.

  • We proclaim the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source and norm of our proclamation, faith, and life.

  • We proclaim that Jesus Christ is the center of scripture, and that all scripture must be read in light of the saving work of Jesus Christ.

  • We proclaim the Unaltered Augsburg Confession as a true witness to the Gospel.
